16gb usb stick says 1.6gb free while empty?

Hi fellas,

Does anybody know why this 16gb usb memory stick i have shows there is only 1.6gb free? It is empty and i have formatted it but still the same.

Any suggestions appreciated

There was a scam going round with usb drives from China that basically involved them selling incorrectly sized drives. Don't know if this could be your problem?

It could be as the memory stick was found by a friend. He thinks it had 16gb on when he asked me to put something on it. It didn't it had 1.6gb used and no other space.
He thinks i have stolen his memory haha like some baddie out of spiderman

Thes eaisest way would be to smash it open, look at the memory chip, google it and tell him to ~~~~ off.
