having a problem trying to update my avg free , keeps saying database is out dated,also anti virus and anti spyware,resedent sheild not active,and update manager the connection failed,i have uninstalled it twice but keep having the same problem, all my connections are ok, thanks.

I have had the same problems with AVG normaly its a great program. the only way I got around this problem was to delete registry entries and reinstall.I realy would not recomend this unless you know what your doing. I didn't the first time and had to reformat the drive. I have since move to a Virus program my ISP is giving away and Spybot search and destroy work pretty good so far and I don't download in good places

I'd kinda recommend removing AVG and get Avast home premium, its free and if you register you'll get a key off them that lasts for 12 months. I been using it now for few months and its a nice little prog

fcuk it off m8 avast is very good no probs with it and free avg is shite

It could be windows firewall m8. You have to allow the AVG server to update. I had this problem, i have a home network running and had to allow some exeptions in the advanced tab.
