DVD DRIVE

Hi im having a problem with my dvd drive on my laptop. for some reason it will only read cd's but not dvd's. it is a dvdrw only noticed as i wanted to burn a film off. it will burn cd and mp3 cd fine. im baffled.

try a differant program, if fails again then could well be that the drive is ~~~~ed

Are you sure its a dvd drive. What make model of drive is it.
All info will be found in control panel--system--hardware---device manager, and you will see DVD/CD drives.

It could be something simply like using a different program to burn or updating the firmware on the drive.
