problem with adobe flash in firefox

i had an adobe flash update 2 or 3 days ago since then it has not been working for streaming live tv or even loading a couple of bookies sites,i searched for adobe flash player updates for firefox and downloaded it but when it finished it came through as google chrome which does work but i've got used to using firefox now,but since i tried downloading the adobe yesterday i now have problems with firefox its just losing or turning off the power every few minutes so i have to constantly switch it back on which means i am now having to use chrome,i read there was some kind of fault with the latest adobe flash for firefox but it said it had been fixed and it led to a link for the same updates i'd downloaded. can anyone tell me what i have done wrong and what i need to do to get back to have firefox working properly again?

just lost power again as i was replying,no didnt do system restore as i only have very basic computer knowledge, sometimes now its taking 4 or 5 clicks of the power button to switch on so i'm wondering if there is a fault with the lead (i dont have the battery installed since it overheated) and my niece spilt a drink near it where it connects to the battery charger part, could that affect the power lead? have checked and it seems to have been dry all the time but anytime i move the laptop anything other than slow and deliberately it loses power.

                          Quick solution:
                          1: Unistall flash player: http://download.macromedia.com/get/f...ash_player.exe
                          2. Download Flash 10.3 http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...20_archive.zip
                          3. Inside the archive you'll find the folder 10.3.183.20. Install flashplayer10_3r183_20_winax.exe (for IE) or/and flashplayer10_3r183_20_win.exe (for Firefox and others).
                          4. DO NOT UPDATE!
                          5. Say thanks if it helped.
