    Continuing from: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ashing-273385/

i finally installed windows 7 on my gaming pc and after a week it has started to freeze.

I then found out its due to over heating.

So now it freezes all the time. i cleaned fans dust etc etc no clue why it would all the sudden heat up so much

    any help please

so is the processor over heating?
u need to take off the heatsink clean that up then clean the cpu add new paste and re-assmble

to remove old heatsink paste if theres any left use alcoholic cleaing solution or wipes even baby wipes n cotton buds

Are you sure it's over heating? These days most comps shut down so it doesn't fry the CPU.

If it is over heating, can you hear the fan running at all?

My favorite is DAE Brake & Carb cleaner. A squirt of the cleaner & a couple of wipes & it's just like new.

Gotta be careful around some paints & plastics... it does like to melt them. Especially on Xbox's

You'll only know when you try and that's if you've done it right.

Apply a thin film evenly and reassemble.
