That`s the issue sorted it seems, as the symptoms have not appeared since the very nice man in London tweaked it. I perhaps wish I had rang them earlier but I did learn a lot so I would not change anything. I used to be with BT and when problems occured and help was needed it was horrendously time consuming trying to get through with uncertain results, that frustration is the only memory I have of them. BT could not give me broadband and with so many others of us in Scotland in remote communitys the Scottish Government installed sattelite equipment free for those who qualified, with the basic package giving 1mb download speed with an upload speed of about 130kbps. Considering our dial up used to be 25/30 kbps, we are all delighted.....as you can imagine! I have to say that when I ring my ISP, a real person picks the phone up who I know the name of, and in this occasion cured it immediatley. Thanks Caveman and Bobski it was very decent of you both and much appreciated. During my learning curve, one of the things I came across was Revo cleaner, and thanks for ccleaner Caveman.

Just to clear it up, my last post read as if it was all free.....My basic package costs ?23 a month.

Hello Krypton,

It could be a good thread this. I dont know why the English Government can`t install sattelite for you, are you in a remote area? If you are, there may already be something in place. Our community has a Spar shop where oranges are 50p each, and you do not want to know the cost of fuel....ah to hell with it........ ?108.99 ltr deisel. It`s sixty miles to the nearest proper city and half of it is a proper road,so that`s good, and I hear that they have bus services there. Twice a year we get a mobile cinema, (thanks to the Scottish Gov....) and there is a great new film coming next month in colour, called the sound of music, starring a new whiz kid who we hear sings quite well..
I would not swap anything we have here though for 10 mb as it`s all swings and rounabouts. There are many communitys with thousands who now can get radio scotland clearly and other stations because of broadband. These people like myself have to install and pay Sky to get normal TV and still pay the BBC license fee for the pleasure. So I can understand Krypton if you are teed off a tad as we are sometimes too, as we know we pay taxes the same as most people to which ever Government it is. We are bracing ourselves up here for the economic crisis which is about to really impact on us, but it seems to be so much worse in England. All of the best to us all.
