acer aspire laptop help

hi my wife as a acer aspire laptop when i switch on the laptop the harddrive light comes on but the screen stays blank i get no windows logo at all nothing the day it went off it just froze and then shut down since then nothing could it be a screen prob or a operating system prob ? eny help would be great as om in the dog house wiv the wife over her laptop

Try it with a PC monitor to see if it's a screen issue. You might have to use the fn and one of the f keys to switch it to external monitor.

Acers are prone for the inverter going on the screens m8 maybe worth a look and only about a score to replace, but a bit of a bastard to do.................

had a similar problem before, I just unplugged the plug for the screen where it connects to the motherboard and refitted it ( with the laptop switched off ) then restarted and all was well again

plug it into a tv or monitor to test the screen

Remove the battery and unplug it.
Hold down the power button for about a minute.
Replace battery and then plug in.
Then press the power button again.
