Hi all ive had problems with above, i had it connected to my sat reciever it was working fine then went off. I bought a new power source still the same. I just bought a new caddy/sata case connected it to my computer & nothin, light on new caddy works so power ok but comp doesnt detect it is the hdd dead or is their somthing else i can do thanks!!

right click my computer,, computer management. disk management... mabie get lucky it show in here?? have you looked there?
'uninitialised' perhaps status..
if not it would need sent to lab prob

do u hear it spin if so do what haribo said
do u get a clicking sound or a zing??
if so this could mean the start of death for the HDD
get ur hands on a HDD regenarator tool/fixer but beware u will be in for a long long long wait to tell the results
few trick i use i get the hdd hot b4 pluggin it in i.e leave on a radiator or i sometimes shake them
