Have you tried Re-seating or replacing the Ram? might be worth a shot,
The only time i have ever come accross a similar problem was with my Dell Xps laptop, which turned out to be my Graphics card was shot. seen as your laptop is a Sony and lookin at the spec of it the graphics is intergrated into the system board so i guess it rules that possibilty out. i can only suggest that you get another motherboard if replacing the Ram doesnt work.
