Hey folks,
Ok problem, I have crappy ghraphics on an old comp
My system is sort of put together, I got the comp off a mate who sorta put them together, but he's on deployment just now, so can't help, I'll tell you what I've got, what I was looking for, and whether I'm on the right track
Please note, I'm more than well into my 40's, so not the most PC literate, so any answers (if any) in baby English, that an old fart may understand
My comp is basically a Dell box, inside is a pentium 4 2.3 processor, it has 1gb ram, a 160g hardrive, and it has a cd/rom drive fitted.
I fitted an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 video card about 18 months ago, it's AGP, it slotted right in, I used the CD to install the drivers, all was well, no worries.
But the problem is kids, they are playing online games, they tell me the comp is no longer up to the job, I'm on a very tight budget, so new comp is out of the question just now, been looking on e-bay for graphics cards, been told to get a 512mb one, told my current is only 128mb, so big difference
, but there are so many, so a little guidance there would be great, but my real problem comes from the fact that they have power plugs on them, my old card just slotted in (once I was guided through it on the phone by a pal lmfao), so the power bit worries me, is this easy to do, or shall I just give up ??
So basically thats it, any help/advice much appreciated, sorry for the wall of text, thought I better give as much info as poss.
Cheers peeps
