hp 620 laptop log in problems

I have just bought a hp 620 laptop off ebay, it powers up fine but when it loads up there is a username and password box. I don't have the username or password of the last user so i'm just wondering if there is anyway of bypassing this or resetting it so I can make my own security settings? Hope 1 of you csn help me. Thanks a lot...Nags

Yes it can be done relatively easily with some software on a bootable disc, you can remove the login password completely, what os is it? I have done it in the past with windows 7, can't remember the name of the one I used.

Thanks a lot people, I managed to get it sorted, I got in touch with the seller and he gave me his details....now for another problem, the wireless connection on the laptop keeps losing it's connection with my router so I have to keep restarting the laptop to get a connection again. What do you think this could be, do you think I need a new lan card? I've tried it on a friends router and it does the same, i've sorted proxy settings but it keeps doing it?? Hope somebody can help....Nags
