    memory checker software ??

Can someone advise me of a programme I can use to check the memory on my puter,
The reason for wanting to check it is im having problems when I download games, when it comes to extracting them I get the following message :-

The file is either in unknown format or damaged

I can download and extract films and music no probs but I never get the iso when I download games, its fine on my laptop I can download them no problems and extract the iso, this is only happening on my main pc

I was advised that this could be due to corrupt memory so before I go and replace it I?d like to check it first, something idiot proof and easy to use would be nice

    Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Download, burn it to disc, boot from disc, let it run over night if pos. If theres a problem, this will find it.

it doesn't matter if i download from newgroups, torrents or rapid share, i still get the same error message

i downloaded a game from torrents on my laptop and unrarred it and the ISO Image file was fine

copied the whole file onto disc and put it on my main pc hard drive and when i opened it i got the error message

the archive is either in unkown format or damaged

i use exactly the same software on the laptop as what i have on the main pc

ive also had ft double check the files i download, he downloads same file from same place and he gets the ISO

its sounding like a read/write error, replace the cables from the hdd to motherboard.

If not put the hard drive from the old 1 and download to there, but its sounds to me a hard drive fault.

If you need anymore help shout me

Sorry forgot to ask piccies of what exactly ???
