    DELL INSPIRON 1501

    i have been given a dell inspiron 1501 windows xp i think i dont no the specs but when i turn it on its asking hor hd password the person who gave it me has forgotton the password to it is there anyway to over come this ? what would you do any help and advice is apreciated thank for looking sparrow....

      Hi. If it is bios password protection the only way is disassembling laptop. Remove battery for bios memory for a minute and U'll get default bios with no any password set.

          do i just take battery out for 1min ? is that all i do ?

              i read up on what u meantt found the battery left it our for good half hour and it still asking for password
