    Acer rebooting - please help

    Hi all,

I have an acer 5742 and recently it has started to keep rebooting on me. I am trying to figure out what is going on.

Symptoms: hit the power button and the laptop comes on for a few seconds then shuts itself down and keeps doing this in a loop.

The laptop worked fine this morning. I have tried scandisk and also the windows dvd to repair boot but still no luck.

    Please advise

at bios hit f8 until you get the menu for safe mode, boot into safe mode with networking and restore system to last know working configuration. if the problem persists remove the hard drive and try to boot with another if possible. sounds like a fault in your hdd.
