Promise fasttrak PCI controler and LG DVD

Hi everyone
I have a problem with my PC. I had changed my mainboard and proccesor. Due to the mainboard hasn't got ATA (IDE) socket , I bought VIA fasttrak PCI conroller.
After instalation on mainboard, I installed all drivers and conected via ribbon LG DVD burner into ATA socket on fasttrak controller. The problem is, that this burner is not detected by the system (XP).
The mainboard: Gigabyte P61-S3.
Have you got any sugestion what to do with this problem?

First, make sure the card shows up in device manager.

Second, if it's the only drive make sure the jumper at the back is set to master.

Probably these types of controlers do not support optical drives. Only HDD can work with these type of controlers

That doesn't sound right, it should work with any IDE device.

Most of these controlers have a setup program by pressing tab or some other key at boot. Maybe check there for setup options.

Also, do you have a spare HDD or other optical drive to try to see if that is detected?

I have other hdd and DVD. I will check it. Jumper set in master mode in DVD LG. I have controller setup after press ctrl+ c or f ( I forgot what exactly) But when system started there was info about no drive to fasttrack controller, bios not installed. There is option to find drive- without result- LG DVD was not found.

Yes, before I changed the mainboard, I upgrade firmware.
