    toshiba laptop finger plate broken

i was letting my young nieces play on cbeebies whilst i watched the man city game and they have pressed the left click finger plate/mouse too hard and it has came out it was loose before but now its off, i can press the small silver chip/button inside to enter things etc but can i just connect my mouse from my computer? until i can take the laptop apart (if simple) and try and put the part back? will the facia just come off if i loosen the screws or will i be opening a can of worms? its a toshiba satellite l450-181

if you have a usb port yes, you could try and take it apart and possibly have to remove the motherboard to get to the part to replace it you will only know when you take it apart.

just realised the mouse has a green tubular connection so cant fit it to the laptop.
