Windows 7 Colour Scheme Help !!!

hi there just wondering if anyone could help me,

my computer is very laggy when it comes to playing videos however i completely wiped everything on my computer about a month ago but before i wiped everything off it the videos used to play fine however there was a setting that when i clicked on a video to play the colour scheme would change from home premium to basic and all my video files would play excellent and now i cant seem to be able to find the setting to get it to do that.

my second question is i have a 2tb core by cnm external hd and ever since iv hooked it up it takes ages to move files from my computer to the external hd, is there any way i can speed this up, i've even tried using programs like extreme copy and it still takes ages.

Any help would be great and thanks in advance

Well for your first question, could you elaborate? What player are you using and how does playing a video relate to changing window's colour scheme?

As for your second question, it depends on your pc's specs and if your pc is running on top of the line specs to make transferring data faster you could try using a USB 3.0 assuming for pc and external hdd supports it

    Hope this helps.

I use both media player and media player classic. I do not know why it changed the colour scheme before but it stopped the video from lagging and now that i dont have that setting it lags really badly so i just have to find the setting to change the colour scheme whenever i play a video file.

Sounds like you are using generic drivers for the USB ports, try going to windows update and update all drivers listed, if that fails download them from board manufactor. For further assitance please post PC specs.
