    Hyjacked

You've picked up a program that HP thinks it needs to protect you from. The "Anti-theft" program has kicked in and you have been Hyjack by HP to show ownership. You can go to where you got your laptop and ask for help (Good Luck) or what I've done for customers is Copy off all important data (docs, pics and personal stuff) and do a complete install of Windows. You will have your computer back like it was when it was "New" only with out the BS. Remember to remove ALL partitions as the anti-theft runs from a hidden HP partition on the hard drive so it will just rewrite itself every time you try to boot up.

            Missed my point

I think you miss what I was trying to say. If your trying to fix this yourself you will have to do EVERY STEP.
1.) With a Windows install disk in the DVD drive (if you don't have one I'll send you a link for a clean one with fix), boot up from disk.
2.) Do a custom install, DELETE ALL PARTITIONS, create new partition and format the new partition (it will make a system partition 110mb also).
3.) Install windows on the NEW partition.

In order to clear out all the problems you are having you Have to Remove All the HP Partitions if you only formate your wasting your time.

I have all the software you need to update all drivers and any thing you need to make like new again.

Let me know what you need, I'll send you a link and step you though it.

                Only thing left

After talking to a friend that still works at HP I was told that there was problems with the Anti-theft programing in BIOS. HP has instructions and a fix that you can download.

                Here's the link

                Good luck

                  Assume

I assume that this is not a "HOT" computer and that all you need to do is log on from another computer to Intel anti-theft site, log on (with info from when you registered it) and recieve unlock code. Now if you have picked up the Anti-theft hackers "poison pill" then you have a problem. This hack writes directly to the CPU and can only be fixed by replacing it unless you have an EMPOM writer.

Also there is this post from YouTube ..........

Intel Anti-Theft Technology Demo with Absolute Software. Absolute Software Product Marketing Engineer demonstrates how to apply IT policy that enables a notebook PC with Intel Anti-Theft Technology to be disabled after it is stolen with the "poison pill." He also shows how to unlock a disabled PC with Intel Anti-Theft Technology. I'll post a link for this video.

If this dosn't fix it then you'll have to Replace the CPU and remember to clean hard drive (of the hack) as not to kill another one.

The friend (was an exemployee now works for HP) told me that the NEW (next gen.) CPUs have pluged the access to hackers and stoped the problem.

Yes as long as it's the same socket set. Make sure you put on a new layer of Thermo Paste and not the cheap stuff. Go down to radio shack and buy the High Heat good stuff, only cost about 9 bucks. Don't forget to clean the hard driver, not just a format remove all partitions.
