That's called 'time for a new board'.

It's not worth trying to bypass or repair it.

you generally find in a lot of cases the burnt out part was not the problem and when you replace it it burns out again. if you take the part out and take it to an electonics shop they may be able to obtain you another.

          Amazon Time

Look on Amazon for best price (you will also get what you ordered). Be sure of part number and New Thermo paste for CPU. A motherboard is fairly cheap and your laptop is like new again.

8.2 Ohm Resistors , not sure of wattage.....
you can go bigger in wattage rating ( handling ability)
            I would go for 8.2 Ohm 5Watts.
Like the guys said - it might just burn again but hey.... the parts are cheap - 0.25$US each

replace part resistor cheep as chips
if it burns out , not a big loss

I think this is an Inductor tbh, SMD resistors don't usually come in that kind of package

EDIT: On the board they appear to have the reference designator of "PL" I've never come across that before and searching on google seemed to return nothing :/

I too think it's an inductor and also agree with others. If you are going to re-place it you are gonna have to find out why it blew. First thing I'd look for is shorted out capacitors had this on a graphics card, cap went short circuit and inductor next to it set on fire literally .

Just seen edit in post above...PL is part inductor which confirms it.

Thanks, Id never seen a PL designation but I was just guessing from the L part it was an inductor, off to look up part inductors now

easy to confirm < use a multimeter and measure the others that displays 1R0 or 2R2 , if they measure 1 ohm or 2.2 ohm they are resistors , inductors will measure close to 0 ohm or usually 0.3ohm ( dead short ) , the same reading as touching the probes together.

                            The real problem

The inductor may have just failed (it happens) but 90% of the time something else made it happen. You may just be spining your wheels here only to have it just burn up again the only thing you do know is that the inductor was the weakest part in that circuit.

It's very rare that that one part would fail with out something else as the root of the problem.

Sometimes it's just better to replace the MBoard, that's what I do for customers who need there computers keep working.

                            Just a thought.
