epson sx 115 red light no black ink

Hi guys I guess I need some advice on what to do.
I put new black ink cartridge and printer wont recognize it. I tried uninstalling and installing software again but no luck. Any chance someone here can guide what to do? I do not want to buy new printer.

I'll take a stab in the dark & guess you're using compatible inks.

Change the black ink as the chip is faulty.
