    memory

    hello guys, i got dell deminsion 1100 pc, i want to put more memory (ram)in pc... i checked with mr memory and the pc is capable of taking 2 x 1gb of ram... so i took out the 256g by 2 . one in each slot, and replaced with the 2 new 1gb ram. but pc wont boot up.. any ideas on what to do .. thanks for help

    Check bus speeds are compatible. Or put old ram back in

      try one piece of memory at a time
      or remove battery for 5 mins to reset bios
      333- and 400-MHz DDR SDRAM
      NOTE: DDR333 and DDR400 memory runs at 266MHz when configured with Celeron 400MHz FSB processors
      NOTE: DDR333 memory runs at 320MHz when configured with Pentium 4 800MHz FSB processors

          ok which processor you got ?
          I would reset bios by removing battery first and see if it reconfigures itself with one piece of memory in ...
          are you getting any post beeps when you put new memory in ?
          if so make sure memory is fully pushed into slot some are very tight
