    external hard drive problem

    morning folks
i have a external hard drive 2.5" usb type formatted half in ntfs and half in fat32

my problem is 1 tv showsthe device and plays and another ( newer tv ) does not. the hdd make a clicking noise on the newer 1 only

could this be down to 2 formats on same hdd causing conflict or maybe the newer tv cant provide enough power for the hdd ( 1tb )

If you have two partitions on the Ex hard drive , the hard drive doesn't care what file system you have. When I hear noise from my customers hard drives I tell them it's telling you it is about to fail. the noise you hear is the read arm banging around and the brake is no longer doing it,s job.

If you have anything important on it you may want to make a back up NOW.

      Thanks xray
I'm not sure, only had new last week and no noise on any pc or other tv - just the newer tv, which makes me think it's something else
