Hello all. I havent posted for a few years so ill ty and keep this simple. Recently i brought a seatgate barracuda 1tb. Ive installed this internally and copied all my files etc to it,with no probs! But last night i reformatted my pc(xp pro sp3) and now i cant access anything. The drive shows up in my computer but it doesnt show the size,free space an used space. All it wants me to do is format it when i click on it.ive tried all kinds of software to salvage what i can but now im drawn to a blank! Ive even put my old hdd(operating system) back in and now im gettin the same problem. I can handle the loss off music etc but ive years of pictures that i really want to keep. Any help id be very grateful.

i would try putting ya harddrive in a different tower all together m8 and then running something like isobuster or a proper jpeg recovery tool, you should be able to recover the data as long as it is seen by the pc -
XP limit
XP can only see a limited size on hard drives.
Go to Seagate and get their hard drive loader for XP.Comment

Get a program called Easus data recovery (check your PM's). I formatted a 600GB hard drive accidently (seriously) and was able to retrieve everything again using it.

I ended up re-formatting the drive again as it was coming as a RAW drive. Got that recovery program and after 12hours of scanning ive got all my pictures back. What a long day! All sorted now thank godComment
