Updating ram

Hi all I've updated the ram in my laptop,
Had 2 x 1gb
I've took one out and replaced it with a 2GB to hopefully speed things up.

When I booted up and looked in system it's only seeing the 1GB.

Do I need to initialise the new ram somewhere?
I'm running vista 32bit

Darn.....fixed, wasn't fully inserted!
Was to cautious about snapping the dam thing.

Things are moving faster :-)

take the 1GB out n just try bootin with the 2GB

dose this work?

if the comp does not boot up at all then u have a duff stick
