Can anyone help with how to get rid of this problem, something is messing up my pc I cannot use or load any anti virus programs, cannot copy or paste anything, the tool bar at the bottom of screen is blank, no start button cannot access control panel my computer etc I have cleared temp files but I cannot access things like system restore.
Has anyone come across this problem yet? or any ideas to resolve this?

      Virus

You may have to download a bootable virus checker from avg or avast and see if that will sort the problem.

and infect the other system if the virus scan don't pick it up .

Do you have malwarebytes installed ?

EDIT - If you do have mbam installed try running the file attached it will re-name mbam and try to run it

Thanks for help but nothing works so far, I have only just been able to connect to internet, running xp pro on pc,system boots up ok but slowly, I cannot seem to start up in safe mode, system restore will not function, cannot use any existing AV or run any new AV, cannot open work xl files & office bring up error I have no other pc available to run mine as a slave off of to clean HD. I know I can reload xp but I would make that the last resort as it involves approx 12 hours of data tranfer, I was hoping someone would have a more technical solution
