I have a compaq mini notebook which I want to get back to factory settings. I bought a system recovery dvd which is meant to auto boot when placed in the external dvd player. It doesn't. Can anyone advise me how I can get it working?

on the load up or ur computer u will need to hit the key that represents BIOS it will be DEL or F8 something like that
just look for it on the computer start-up at the bottom of the screen
next u will need to use the arrow keys and navigate yourself to the boot menu tab
once inside move the dvd rom upto 1st boot priority
and this then wil make the disc bootable on start-up
