Toshiba Tecra M! Bios password

Has anyone had any dealings with removing a bios password at startup on these laptops. I have had this stripped down about 5 times to find either the eeprom or just the battery to no success. I have also tried shorting out jumpers and done the parallel loopback trick which never worked either. I have contacted Toshiba and they were far too expensive for what the laptop is worth.

Can anyone help me out?

You could try shorting the bios chip. I have done this in the past but not with that model. Do it as a last resort.

right i have found the chip but its so small. its which pins to try tho?

on new tecras like the r850 the password is in the EC chip
which has 64k of ram in it
this is a medium sized BGA device

type any password 3 times and then it will give you a 5 letter figure..come back with the 5 letters and i`ll give you your password.
