    i think i have a virus

hey chaps, security essentials is constantly flashing up telling me to do a complete scan, and that a threat is being dealt with.
my machine is becoming increasingly difficul. wont start up, keeps swithching off, cant open or access programmes and the tinterweb.
anyone got a solution or some help please?

    thank you.

What Antivirus do you have? Im not the greatest with computers but I keep an arsenal of virus protection near by. try using spybot

    Spybot - Search & Destroy - CNET Download.com

run it and let it do its thing

try starting the pc in safe mode with network support and run or install malwarebytes anti malware software and do a full scan in safe mode. i would also change your antivirus to avast from security essentials.

Agree with the above post. Malwarebytes will get rid of most of these annoying things. Boot the pc in safe mode and run a full scan. Remove anything it finds and should be good after that.

Recent reports indicate that Security Essentials has failed to meet its own standards of protection (only managing 42%). I'd change your anti-virus right away.
