CD-Rom Writing Problems

I hope someone can help me. After a new install after a trojin infection I am having problems with both my pioneer dvd writers. I can access what is on disk I try to read but when I try to write to the drives with both Nero 8 ans Ashampoo 7. Niether of the programs can see any drives so will not write to them.
Anyone have an idea on how I can get them working agian. By the way I have tryed removing the drives and ide's and rebooting and then putting them back...it didn't help.

Nero 8 is a pile of shite, better to use v7 anyway... What version of windows are you using.....? Did you use the driver/software CD that came with the drives before you loaded Nero etc..?

try flashing the latest firmware to your drives, also look for newer drivers.
download this file , it will tell you what drives you have and what firmware version they are. Then look for newer versions.
