I am struggling seriously on the end of my teather....

I have a acer e1 wih win8 pre installed, dont want to format as not void warranty. Need win 7 and xp also. Tried to make it dual boot but cos win 8 is gpt it wont accept any other installation. Seen afew links on jow ro make win7 or xp instalable on gpt partitions but I'm unfamiliar to this. I've been trying for over a week with no luck.

    HELP pls

Formatting a laptop will not void warrenty.

If your scared of that create a backup image or burn your backup discs.

They supply a windows serial incase thier backup program fails or hdd gets wiped.

Id personally format it and start what ever your trying to do from a clean disc

As I said in previous post it is too long winded and complicated at the mo, i thought you were wanting windows 8 and 7 now i see you mention 7 and xp - in that case as cunny said this wont void your warrenty, totally format it and stick 7 and xp on if you want an easy route and still keep windows 8 aswell then create virtual drives and put 7 and xp on them using VMWare Workstation - it really does work well. I running 7 and have xp on virtual drive and it works as if its a clean xp install

Ive installed win 7 and xp to virtual drives but they dont work like the real thing. Ive got a few programmes and they dont seem to work. Tried them on win8 also by changing setting to run as xp and win 7 and luck. Am I missing something? ???

what virtul software did you use?

What programs dont like to run on the virtual drives and whats the issue your getting with them

I'll see if i can get the same software and run them on my virtual drive
