It may possibly need the bios updating, I have an Acer laptop which used to shut it self down on it's own accord, it was a fault with the bios, updated it & it was fine.

I have checked the manufacturer website, there seems to be several models of this laptop Sony Vaio VGN-CS21S/T/R/P/V/W. However, unusually there doesn't seem to be any bios files in the download section. When did this problem start, was it after updating/reinstalling operating system? If so, a good place to start would be to select your specific laptop model from the link provided, then select your operating system & download all the drivers for your laptop.
