Compaq Presario R3000 Automatic Powering Off

    Hi All
I have a Compaq Presario R3000 Notebook. Its automatically powering off and when press the power button Notebook is starting.

I tried so many ways to fix it up. But still automatically powering off. I already removed the battery. I have reinstalled all the drivers. When working, it is working perfect.
If anybody knows how to fix this problem, Please help.

    Thanks

        goto system properties.
        Click on advanced.
Under the startup and recovery, click settings.
        Un check auto restart.

If it does it again you will get a blue screen with an error code and file name, you will need all the information on that screen,

          Hi,

I already did the same, but still powering off. Yes, I have noticed there was blue screen error. ''The Error code is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR-EQUAL. A preblem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer''.

          Thanks
          Jose

That error ususlly points to bad RAM.

I would get some sort of memory test program to tell fro sure. You shoudl find it on google.

If that is the problem then replacing is a two minute job.

              IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR-EQUAL
is USELESS, its the most vague stop error in existance.

Find out the stop code and the word it gives you eg: Code 0xC004E002

              Possible causes:
              USB Devices
              Hub errors
              Mouse errors
              Printer errors
              Memory errors
              Processor errors
              Hard drive errors
              Sound card errors
              wifi errors
              nic errors
              PCI errors
              PCIe errors
              Graphics adaptor errors
              Driver faults
              Power Supply errors
              North bridge errors
              South bridge errors
              Software application errors
              Cache errors
              Viruses
even a dying capacitor on some arbitrary part of the motherboard can cause these errors.

Frankly its a nightmare to diagnose without having all the information available.
