    slow laptop internet

i have a 20meg vm broadband connection to my desk top PC, i use a belkin wireless router to connect to my laptop where i use downstairs mainely, which is directly beneath the router,
my problem is that the Internet connection is really slow on the laptop, sometimes it takes up to 30sec/2 mins to change pages, i use windows xp on the desk top and vista on the laptop...
    thanx guys for any help...

if its still under the default ip address, connect to the router then type 19.2.168.2.1. this should take you to the login page.
Also see if you cant extend the range of it, ensure theat NAT & UPNP is enabled under the system settings

Also move the laptop next to the router, if it is still the same i would guess the issue would be with the laptop, if its quicker then its the link between the laptop and router.

If the the same i would firstly format the laptop, reinstal all drivers then see how you go on from there.

If its quicker then i would think about moving the router to a more suitable place.

a little faster i think. i am not going down the road of formatting and reinstalling drives, sounds complicated to me.
                      thanx anyway...
