Help change my sata hdd

Hi guys I have a pc loaded just recently with windows 7 plus 1 or 2 programs .
The hdd is pretty noisy when doing a task' so think I may change it for another I have' but wondered if I can copy the contents of the drive
to a new drive then reboot

your help is appreciated
