    Winrar extraction Problem (Self Inflicted)

Hope someone has a remedy for this problem.

I had been opening and reading a couple of PDF files.

Downloaded a rar file and saved it in the usual way.

Fool me instead of hitting "Extract Here" hit "Open With" and even bigger fool selected Adobe Reader, the open this type of file with this programme was also ticked. Before realising my mistake the damage was done.

Every time I try to extract a rar or zip file it goes through the correct motions with the progress bars but leaves me with a file folder of the same as the original rar file.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

The winrar is working fine. Some types of files are extracting ok now but I,m sure the files that I balls,d up with are not extracting but still go through the extraction motiond in the progress window.

file association may be screwed up, start winrar goto Options, Settings, Integration, make sure RAR is checked
Also check My Computer, File options, File types, scroll down to RAR and make sure opens with WinRar archiver
