    Pc keeps freezing

I have a new notebook it run brilliant in every way, that is until I want to watch a video. My routre is new I have 30meg bb and I also use wireless. This problem can be at any time of the day. This only happens when I stream video ie noobroom. The video's freeze or jump for a split second every minute or 2 and its very annoying. is there anything I can do short of changing my provider, I'm with virgin at the min. Thanks in advance for your replies.

maybe your wireless connection not strong enough where your using it, try it on a cable if that helps looks at home plugs or a wireless extender ( you can get home plugs that act as extenders also)

make a note of the times of day that this happens and also run broadband speed checker. can be either the server of the video that you are watching is overwhelmed and not adequate for purpose, or the issue is with virgin. the reason i say note the times as it make be their system being over used at peak times. 30meg means nothing. thats the maximum you could get if it was running to its max with perfect performance. most broadbands are lucky to receive between 2.4meg.

sounds like its buffering the video to me
also depends on the size on the file you were streaming as well if its big might take a while
virgin does have traffic management as well Thresholds.
usually its only certain things-computer ----modem/router----internet
        rarely its the line
just a few questions do you use a super hub?
what is the speed setting on transfer speed on your router?
what is the speed on the network device on your notebook?
also did you try updating adobe flash and the relevant codecs and drivers?

most you could get is about 3.1 to 3.2 at that speed
