Hi, can anyone give me some help? When my son starts up his laptop it come up with the options F1,F9,F10 i think but no F8 to place in safe mode, so it will not boot up at all, he is running vista

As the laptop gets past the post screen(either the white writting or the big logo when the laptop starts) keep tapping F8 then to display the windows dianostic screen.

Then choose safe mode.

Tried that it doesn't work. The screen just loads and gives some F options in the bottom left corner but F8 isn't one of them. Does F8 need to be enabled somehow?

no f8 is used to help dianose windows faults, if you have a windows instalation then it should work unless theres a fault
