    Toshiba Equium issue please help

Hi there could someone help me with a problem that i have

i have a Toshiba Equium A200 1v0 it already had a fault with the inverter not working so i ordered a new one. waiting on this coming.

laptop worked fine using the external connection. i had left the laptop sitting some months before i got round to ordering the part and didnt charge it. no when i try to connect the laptop up externally im not getting anything not even bios. i have found that the caps lock led stays on along with the power, hdd led and 2 other lights just below the F10 and 11 keys.
when i hold the power button in for 5 seconds it does not shut down the laptop, i have to pull power cable and remove the battery

i have tried removing the battery and holding in the power button for 1 min with the power cable removed but this has not helped at all. i have replaced the RAM and Hard driver to see if this would help but has not

at the moment i am stumped so any help at all would be great btw the cmos battery is a soldered on one in this model

If you hear nothing (fan wise) when switching on it could well mean that the motherboard has died. I had a very similar issue with my sons old laptop and found the board had gone for no reason.
Also I have never come across one with a soldered in CMOS battery, as they aren't rechargeable they are usually removable in some way.
Maybe worth taking to a local repair shop for an opinion ?
