Micro SD card formatting problems - write protection

I found two 8G micro sd cards, which I want to clean/format.

Using a adapter to format in my Win7 laptop, a message comes up telling me they are write protected. I can read the data but cannot write to them.

I know the adapter is good as used for other cards I have. Downloaded 'SDFormatter 4.0', that will not format them either.

    Any clues.

Is there a little switch on it to stop you erasing the data??

      Yes there is a switch.
This is in a position to allow data to be put on or off the cards. I have used the adapter with my phone micro sd card with no problems.

      thanks

I noticed my win 7 laptop won't do few odd things that my father win 7 desktop does
Put card in another PC and try
Weird thing is we both got the same OS

Did you try moving the switch into the other position?
