Wifes Toshiba wont start up just saying operating system not found have tried with my basic knowledge to fix but not getting anywhere cannot find back up disc so anyone help please. It is windows 7

This may help to start with....
"Operating System Not Found" or "Missing operating system" error message when you start your Windows XP-based computer -
Had same problem with my missus Toshiba. Turned it back off ,then on, and pressed F8 to get into SAFE MODE and clicked on 'Last best settings' or some similar wording and pressed OK and all was back to normal start up.
