Error loading windows

Any info when trying to get into laptop error saing reload windows 98se then error dll msvcrt dll after that nothing can be done.Tried to load windows from cd and start in safe mode but to no effect.Any help appreciated

hi m8 if you got nothing worth backing up just do a fresh copy of xp saves all the hassle .

Hi if i do an install with windows xp will the hassle of dll msvcrt. dll go away or will i have to then find a way arround this.

if you do a clean install then your hd will be formatted and xp will be reloaded and your problem will be resolved.

You can copy the file over from the cd/floppies of win 98se, your best bet is tho as suggested see if win xp will load on it, if not sure there will be an old forum telling you how to do it, i cant remember for the life of me... I know you can copy the cab files over through dos and from there.
