    pc stuck in power save mode

    hi all any ideas please pc stuck in power save mode cannot get into it for safe mode or into the bios or anything a help please its a dell desktop running on xp pro
    we are all learning each day

    is it a usb keyboard you got? if so the legacy prob aint enabled in bios allowing you to access either bios or safe mode.

    Either get a usb - ps2 adapter, or a ps2 keyboard

      i have a plug in keyboard and a usb but nothings working the pc is only 2 years old but it wont let me in to do anything i have changed the battery memory stripped it right down and still nothing the key board doesnt light up when i turn pc on

              is the no other information m8.

              Near the battery there should be 3 jumpers with a cap covering 2 of them, remove this cap, put onto the other side so the 1 without the cap on is now covered, remove battery, that should clear the cmos, or just leave the battery out for 20-30 mins.

              Do you have a spare hdd?

                hiya m8 there is no jumpers on the mb wot i can see ive removed the battery but there is no jumpers i can see.ive stripped this thing right down to the motherboard no cables or battery on it at all rebuilt it back up i have a spare hdd but its formated so no operating system

                  thats what you want, put that in and format it with an os, then if u need your files back off the other retrieve off them at later date.
