    Crazy lines through my screen

I have my desktop setup to a projector it runs fine untill I start useing ace stream to play movies or streams ,then I start getting crazy lines across the screen and the only way for it to stop is to turn the computer off for a day.i have tryed removing drivers for the graphics card, new cables(vga, dvmi),moving speakers out the way.i had a new graphics card fitted at a shop and I read it could be the power unit, so I asked the shop and they think its not the power but a driver issue, any one know anything I could try or a program to use to fix it,its doing my head in

The gpu on the video card could be failing, check the video card for bulged capacitors and make sure the fan (if used) is working. Try replacing the video card.

Ace stream is just a heavily modified version of VLC Media player.
Do you have the same issues with VLC Media Player.
You could also try switching off the hardware decoding feature of ace streams and see if that works.

Click Tools, then preferences, select video option from the left hand side of the screen
Untick Accelerated video Output (overlay) and also use hardware YUV>RGB conversions, then click save.

If that doesn't work try Video output options from the same location that you changed the 2 previous options

it some times does it in vlc, I use vlc with sopcast,I was waching acestream last night and had no problems but only picked a low kbps 1500,it seems if I pick something with a high kbps it works no problems for a while and then these lines just appear and also with downloaded movies(avi,mp4)

if it's not happening straight away when you play the videos then that would rule out a graphics card driver issue.
You could try installing some different codecs to rule out that problem Download K-Lite Codec Pack Standard
but if I was to put money on it, i would say the issue is caused by overheating.
Take the side of the PC case and run it with the side off to see if the issue stops.

I have installed the k lite codec pack and also when I looked in my remove programs option I noticed two video programs from avg installed,i dont use avg so I deleted both of them, they where a .msi file type but since doing that I have been running xbmc for a few hours, watched a movie on vlc and had acestream running too and there is no lines yet so fingers crossed

You really need to start your own thread and not take over an existing one, if you want an answer.
