    blue screen of death

    built a new computer and when i try to install windows after installing for about 20 minutes i get the bsd its says bad_pool_header, and gives the code 0x00000019(0x00000020, 0xe1d75ab8,0xe1d75b70,0x0c170402) any idea's guys what's causing it to crash, thanks

    I had something similar a while ago... turned out to be a bad boot sector or something...

    Maybe your HD's taken a knock and needs replacing?

      Google the error code and you will find loads of information. I would have posted a link but external links are not allowed on the forum.

        the error code seems to indicate there is an error on your hd file system try the following link for a solution

          ran chkdsk and it says volume contains more than one unrecoverable problem it was a brand new seagate 120 gb i bought last week but it looks like its goosed, but why ? even tried to install linux mint 7 and that would not either resorted to using puppy till i sort. but i want to thank all u guys for your help

            you stated it was a new hard drive if there are errors in the file system on it maybe you could format the drive then try to reload your o/s again.

              Download Hirens Boot cd



              Run the hard drive utilities from cd.

                i have used seagate utilities to wipe the disc and create partions and format the disk and try to reinstall and always get the bsd. will down load hiren boot cd and see what happens. can only thank u guys again for pointing me in the right direction cheers

                  try win98 bootdisk and old fdisk to clean hd and format this,but my view you have some problem with hardware, first try are all cards etc memory connected well to motherboard and .... step by step another possible reasons
