I am trying to fix my nephews' laptop...........loaded vista and now runs ok but..cannot connect to internet via my wireless connection. Message says "this computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured" Iv'e looked at the Lenovo website and downloaded various adapters but none of them are found on boot-up. any advice would be appreciated as I'm now tearing my hair out!!!!!!

the most common is this one m8 Lenovo Support & downloads - Intel Wireless LAN (11abgn, abg, bg) for Windows Vista - ThinkPad

if it doesnt work you will have to identify by opening laptop and looking at wifi card installed for s/n or p/n

many of these T41 laptops are ex corporate jobbies and then went onto the market... most of them had their wifi cards removed to stop the users connecting them to dodgy networks when they were supposed to be used for work purposes... the wifi card sits underneath the palm rest in these lappies... you can open it up and have a look, but its easy enough to buy a wifi card to put in them as the antennae wires will still be there...
