NEED Help with Sound drivers for sony?

Hi I have a sony vaio labtop, model PCG_7mim, i had to reload windows Xp, back on it, so lost the sound drivers, i have tryed the sony website, but cant find that model, it has the drivers for the sony vaio models, but not the one i have, i have tryed some if the drivers that have for other models of vaio, but they dont work , i have spent a lot of time on line looking for them but no luck yet, anybody know were i can find them or one that will work, thanks again for your help,

Thanks Airshownut. when i click on the driver in the sony list/ it takes me to other drivers web pages to load drivers fix or find missing drivers. you know the ones. it just wont let me download it from the sony list . thanks for your time and help. ranger

try using device manager in control panel it should show a asterisk if the driver is missing from there use propeties and let the pc search on line for the driver.

Thanks Dasteph, iI have tryed that , but it cant find it, cant understand the sony web site? for their downloads,they keep sending you to pay sites for their downloads, ill keep on looking , thanks again,

sometimes when you get all the service packs on they put a driver update in or optional as well, i had the same thing on a PC and it sorted it when i put the service paacks and updates, but what dasteph said could sort it,

using device manager does it give you the make of the sound card installed and use that to search for the driver rather using the model number because the driver would have been on a utility disc along with various other drivers.

Try to search by VGN number located on bottom case of laptop. Yours should have VGN-FS5xxx

Then go to
Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities
and download original driver package for Windos XP and there you will have proper drivers for yours laptop.
