    Uninstall Norton Anti Virus

Hi Chaps some help please if you can.

My PC became infected and it was necessary to reboot from master DVD. This reinstalled Norton 2006. Trying to uninstall but you need the original disk which I no longer have. In turn I cannot load AVG until Norton is removed. Does anyone know how I can get rid of Norton without having the original disk.

only gets rid of entries associated with the prog you want to unistall and sometimes it seems like thousands.

dasteph, seems to have got rid of Norton but it's still not letting me install AVG. It's telling me I still have anti virus software installed and it "fails" to install avg.

On a separate, but probably linked, issue. I also now keep getting an error message of:-

"MSRedist Error 1324 Folder path documents and settings contain an invalid character"

every time I start up or try to install things. Any ideas?

its not not guaranteed to work but you could try installing a later version of Norton AV and then using the same CD to remove the installation and hopefull all other norton/symantec files cleanly....

if you do not know antbody that has one then you could try a downloaded version

            Code:
            http://rapidshare.com/files/43708993/NAV2007_Full_Retail.part1.rar
            http://rapidshare.com/files/43709429/NAV2007_Full_Retail.part2.rar
These are not my files so i not know what they contain etc...
