ls a vga splitter sufficient to drive bothe a monitor and an lcd tvfrom my laptop or will l need to use a vga amplifier with multi port vga output. l need to get it sorted before the football season starts.Thanks in advance.

A decrease in a few volts causes the picture to severely darken. not to mention the problems with drawing extra current from your graphics board.
You would be cheaper and get better results from just getting an old matrox quad head or a cheap dual head board (most new boards are dual head nowadays)
Even just another board and run them both simultaneously would only set you back a few quid at most.He who laughs last thinks slowest.
