DVD WRITER PROBLEMS

Can anyone please help? I have fitted a Samsung superwritemaster dvd writer into my pc (SH-S202J), it is a dual format writer & I have been using DVD+R discs, without any problems, however I have bought a spindle of DVD-R discs (VERBATIM) & the writer will not recognise the discs. Somebody please help.

Hi mate,

Not all discs are compateble with all burners... you could check for a firmware update from Samsungs website... Or check the discs in a diffrent burner, sometimes the discs themselves are sh*gged. Nero speed test should tell what version the firmware is on your samsung. Or you should try a differant brand of -DVD-r If they don't work it could be a fault with the burner.... which due to the mass production of electronics would to be to me the most probable.

I had loads of issues like this when i bought my 1st burner... a nec 305 i think it was... ?180. for a 2 speed single layer dvd-rw. Still got it somewere.

Cheers M8, downloaded firmware from samsung, now working, but the samsung site is a bit of a arse to get round, especially with there new download system.
