    PC KEEPS CHANGING TIME & DATES HELP

    Lads confused, I am running win XP3 Pro every time I switch on pc the time and dates keep changing, I have replaced a new 3v battery, adjusted new time and date still happening, any solution? Thanks in advance.
    Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

    I think it may be resetting to the time in BIOS
    try going into BIOS and set to the present date and time

      Thanks mate thats the first thing I did having same issue, looks like I need a new mother board.

        is the time going back back to exactly the same time every time, if it is then the CMOS battery you changed may be dead as well

          If keeps re-setting time and date, replace motherboard battery. It is the cause for that symptom.

            Come to think you both could be right, bought a packet of battery from pound shop for ?1.00, I will go to computer shop and buy a proper battery and give you the result tomorrow.

                Lads never got time to change battery but 2 days on and PC working fine time and dates not changing any more, confused.

                  have u set your clock to a different time zone? (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London

                    It could have updated the settings in the bios to remember date and time.

                    Another soloution could have been that motherboard clear cmos jumper was in wrong position
